Mafia - OOC and Signups (Game 1)
#31
Yes, but before I leave and go to live an afterlife, I'm going to watch the outcome of these events. Hopefully, my death won't have been for nothing. 'starts to eat cookies'

Brawlinator, you know very well who your partner was in this crime, and wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.... Darn it, I can't give hints. I'm absolutely certain it was him who killed me though. I have irrefutable proof. To be honest, I knew I'd die the first night. It seemed very obvious after signing a deal with Vero. If I included a bit more of the text I was originally going to include, perhaps I would've survived the night, but it might've also been at the expense of Brawlinator's survival as well, leaving us with two live Mafia members and a dead Townie by Day 2. My actions were just and my death was foreseen. I wish all of them the best just as you do Brawlinator, and I too will be viewing these events. -eats- This and I'm not giving up cookies and milk just yet.

Well it seems the game is over so now I must take the time to revamp and fix the issues I've witnessed with the game. But there is one big issue I must bring up with you all.

Despite me telling everyone this is a cross between a Roleplay and a Forum Game, with more emphasis on the Forum Game, almost every player in this game tried to roleplay their way through it. That's not how you are supposed to play the game. Of course I'm not going to forbid it but it's much more difficult to get anywhere logically that way. With this game you are yourselves. It's just like if we were arguing on a forum which is something we have done before. 5 of the people were innocent and two were Mafia. You should just talk to people, there is really such a very small element of roleplaying in this game. I'm considering moving it to the Forum Games category next time I run this if I need to.

You are meant to actually talk with eachother to figure things out. Use logics to find people who are wishy-washy and constantly switching their votes, who keeps on jumping on the bandwagons, and who is trying to find Mafia in the most stupid of reasons. No offense to Eebit but one of his points for voting for Twilix, which admittedly got him a Mafia Member, was that he had misspelled Turbotaxer's name. That's not really a strong argument and if I was playing I would have jumped against Eebit for that thinking that was highly suspicious to pass your reasoning off of.

Here guys, here is the forum where I took this game. I'm providing the link where they have completed run-through of their Newbies Games.
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=50

Also, here is a link to the Newbie Guide on their Wiki, go ahead and read other articles if you wish.
http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Newbie_Guide

I myself have signed up to play one of these Newbie Games soon. They already have the players lined up and I believe we are just waiting on our moderator. Feel free to join that site too, but I do warn that it can take awhile to get your account activated. Took about 5 days for me.

Now like I said It's going to be awhile before the next game I run here takes place. I'm aiming for a possible game during Christmas Break but that depends if I can finish fixing things by then. This wasn't an all-together horrible first run, but it definitely could have been better. I'm going to set things up so that after I run the 2nd game other people can run games if they wish and I'm also going to create a topic dedicated to telling you about the different potential roles that people could have and if you have suggestions for roles feel free to tell me.

I thank you all for playing in this first game. And I hope the next one is a success as well, assuming you guys still want to do another one.

In a week I will move the Mafia Forum to Inactive Roleplays and will lock all the topics so get your comments in here before that time. If you have anything to say to me about the game after that time be it suggestions, comments or whatever, I would prefer you PM me but if you think it would be better to post on the site for discussion, let me know first and I will create a topic under Roleplay Signups for that purpose. Thank you.

I have a few things to say reinforcing Zantok's statements but first I'll share with you all what I predicted about this game on the whole- some things even before Day 1. Let me start by saying that every little thing down to the bone was 100% certifiably correct, so it was right of you all to trust me and right of the Mafia to kill me. However, I found it always within the realm of possibility that I would die, especially on the first night. Let me explain. I was so certain of Brawlinator's being Mafia that I pulled out all the stops against him; I even signed a contract that I was sure would result in my death. Vero, your politics were interesting and the way you saved yourself from death was certainly unique.

Pre-game, Turbotaxer was highly suspicious to me for a variety of reasons. Reason one was that he was my friend in real life, and it wouldn't be the first time fate had twisted us against each other in competitions before just to be funny. This wouldn't hold up in the Townie court however, so I had to think - What else is going on here...? and found quickly that Turbo's behavior seemed a little more suspicious for a bit. Some of the texts shared between he and I concerning Mafia were fishy; similar to the way the Brawlinator stylized his posts which lead me to rightly suspect him off the bat.

Furthermore, thinking about what would happen once Brawlinator was out of the picture, I found that Flamezone couldn't possibly be a member of the Mafia. The way he acted just did not permit it. Eebit was more-so another detective-type of sorts such as myself, though I do agree with Zantok on the point where you can't just assume something based off of a minor typo, or else you'll draw some suspicion to yourself as well which could've been very dangerous if our game had a few more players involved. This being said, your game was VERY good otherwise, which I appreciated. Vero... He was more a politician who liked taking chances more than anything else, and as for the Kazuka-- his vacation statement pre-game probably sealed his fate as a Townie before randomizing the other results. Having to PM Zantok every night about who he'd want to kill while on vacation at a hotel with syruppy Wi-Fi wouldn't be entirely possible. This left me with turbo, or should I now say Twilix01, as the final Mafia member.

Now that we're done with that lengthy explanation, I have to bring up some points so as to reinforce what Zantok has already said. Do you see the great rift that I alone drew between Brawly and I just within the first couple of posts using nothing but text very similar to what I'm writing right this moment? THIS is how you're supposed to play a roleplay/forum game such as Mafia. You use pure logic to debate with others and find a plausible solution. If you're not the logical type, then a game like this isn't your exact cup of tea. Roleplaying intensely in a game like this just throws people off and accusations start flying wrongly EVERYWHERE... This and it also results in plain ol' useless posts and gimmicks. The cookies and milk thing, while entirely enjoyable, was admittedly far overdone. You can dare to take extreme measures; that's all in good detective work, but make sure you stay LOGICAL. LOGIC is the key to Mafia! Feel free to use your powers of wordplay here as well. As you can see by what I presented to the game, it makes things a lot more interesting.

As far as reading that Wiki and forum, and potentially signing up for more Mafia games at said forum while we wait for the next official ZEJ one, I highly recommend it. I've already seen quite a bit of it and it is indeed a good read (unintentionally rhymed). There's an abundance of roles available in all reality - the Cop/Doctor/Townie/Mafia game we had going was just a little taste of what's to come.

Sign me up for the next game! That was fun! Even though I was the first one to die... Also, the cookies and milk gag was just for humor, because I like to put humor in things, as many of you have seen from Crossover and The Ultimate Tournament. Ironically, it made me a prime suspect, so I probably won't try that again, although I'll probably try some other attempt at humor. I probably won't go onto the Mafia site though, because I already have two forums to go to everyday, Mercurious and ZEJ, and I don't want to sacrifice time from either of them. I'll probably pay that wiki a visit though.

I unfortunately am going to have to quit. I was not expecting 5 pages to build up in my absence, and I also simply can't keep up with the speed it's going at. Recently, my brain just hasn't been able to focus =/

Anyway, sorry guys =/
